So, what is the "right way" to sing? Well, there's more than one answer. Having performed in, and taught various genres (including but not limited to jazz, musical theatre, opera, pop, barbershop, A-Capella, and do-wop), I have encountered countless ideas on what people think the correct technique is. Many find it far too difficult to coordinate the seemingly overwhelming technicalities that can accompany "correct" vocal use. I am proud to say that I have come across the best combination of tools and a straight-forward approach to vastly improving your abilities and overall vocal health. I am confident that it is the easiest and most efficient way to get the results you're looking for. I will help you preserve your voice as well to achieve the most important thing - longevity. Learn to expand your range in the healthiest way so you can sing for as long as you're able to speak. I look forward to finding YOUR voice and setting you on the path to success! *** Studio Equipment *** Keyboard, Taylor 214ce Acoustic Guitar, 6 Microphones (AKG Perception 220, AKG c214, Rhode NT1-A, SURE SM7B, SURE SM57 BETA, SURE SM58), as well as ADAMS A7X Monitoring Speakers; all which can provide recorded vocal lessons & demo's for select sessions. *** Travel Equipment *** If traveling to a home, I would prefer that the student has a piano/keyboard, background tracks to the pieces they'd like to work on, and a recording device to review their lessons. *** Specialties *** I specialize in vocal technique and pedagogical care of the voice. I can provide the best combination of tools and a straight-forward approach to vastly improving your abilities and overall vocal health. Preserve your voice with correct use, to achieve longevity.

READ THE BREAKDOWN. Cody is a great producer and a great guy - both are equally important in creating the best recording experience. Some of his attributes are best expanded upon with bullet-points. HUMBLE. This is hugely important. There is not a pretentious bone in his body. Cody is great at what he does but is not afraid to ask for help from people who might know more about whatever aspect of the music creation process specific to the artist. There is no “I’m the producer and I know more than you” attitude. Instead, his attitude is very much of equality where both parties understand the strengths that they bring to the table. PATIENT. Sometimes I have a lot of ideas - or none at all. Cody would bear with my A.D.D. moments in the studio when dealing with ideas that I sometimes couldn't communicate. Instead of writing my ideas off, he instead worked with me until we achieved exactly what I was trying to get at. RESPECTFUL. Being an artist himself, Cody has immense respect for the artist and their creations. UNDERSTANDING. Cody’s understanding of all kinds of music lends to his fearlessness of exploring new genres - but it doesn't stop at exploring - he captures their essence. I've heard tracks he’s done that are R&B, indie-rock, country, EDM, etc. and its hard to imagine they were all from the same brain. If you wanted a Bollywood track, I’m sure he could give you one. RESOURCEFUL. Cody has ingenuity and is resourceful. He would never tell me what *works with my kind of music* or what kind of instrument I would *need for the song* - if we wanted a certain sound, we’d make it - out of wax paper and water bottles if necessary. EFFICIENT. Mostly I sat in awe and watched Cody click and move stuff. COMMITTED. Even when he didn't have to, Cody would work on my track in his free time meticulously making sure everything was how it should sound and also just to make sure there wasn't any territory we had overlooked. And that's just naming a few. All in all, Cody brings a child-like spirit of wonder to his sessions - where the song is not a job or a chore, but a new world waiting to be explored, full of possibilities waiting to be uncovered. And that excitedness and spirit of discovery is KEY to sustaining creativity in a studio environment. Not only does it make the whole process productive, it makes it FUN. Cody’s character bleeds into how he works and into what he creates and the final product reflects that.

So Helpful and Patient Cody is one of the best voice teachers out there. Whether it's helping you get started on your first song, or helping you understand the basics of music theory, he is hands down one of the best voice teachers I have ever had. He is very patient, and within the first 5 minutes he will be able to tell what you need the most help on, sometimes without you even needing to say it. You will leave the lesson feeling fully accomplished and confident.

Awesome recording session! I had such a pleasure working with Cody. He is so creative and wants the absolute best for his clients/students. I am a singer who sings a lot of Broadway and classical repertoire, and wanted to record a track that was more on the side of pop. I was nervous at first, but in just a couple of takes, Cody helped me find my pop voice and really made me feel at ease singing my vocals. He had me do a couple of cool tricks to really connect with what I was singing about and after that, everything clicked and I was letting myself be free with my new sound and Cody was so supportive and gave wonderful feedback. He's a great coach as well! I loved every idea he had. I had so much fun in the studio and highly recommend working with him...I know I will again in the future.
