I grew up in a musical family, where everyone played a variety of instruments, and there was equal variety in musical tastes: heavy metal, bluegrass, rock n roll, hip hop, pop, country, inspirational, classical, Celtic, etc. I started learning to play the piano at the age of 5, long before I could reach the foot pedals, and learned to play by ear before I started taking lessons at the age of 10. I started playing guitar in 7th grade. I played keyboard, guitar, and sang in an in-house band, all throughout junior high and high school, took music theory classes in college, and I continue to write, produce , edit, and teach music to this day. I began dancing at the age of 10, and choreographed my first hip hop dance when I was 12. I was a dance minor at Western Michigan University. I have 10 years of professional experience as a teacher and choreographer, with many dances receiving 1st place national champion awards, and several of my pieces have been nominated for best choreography at national competitions. Currently, I continue to further my professional career as a choreographer and performer, attending workshops and classes from the best in the business several times a year. *** Lesson Details *** First, I want to find out what your goals are, what you aim to achieve in this field, what your ultimate goals are as an artist. Then, we set a plan of action, and we go as fast or as slow as you want to go. Not everyone learns in the same way, so we can approach the material in a variety of ways, it's up to you and what your goals are.
