Raised in South-Central Wisconsin, I have been playing and loving music for as long as I can remember. Starting with piano at age 3, I have had a broad range of musical experiences--from musical theater to orchestras to traditional Swiss music. I'm the epitome of nerd, and academic pursuits have always been of interest to me. After high school at the age of 16, I headed off to Chicago to DePaul University, where I have had the pleasure of studying with Assistant Principal Bassoon of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Bill Buchman. My passion for music and education are the driving forces in my pursuit of knowledge and experience in this world. *** Lesson Details *** In my lessons, I offer an effective mix of demanding and understanding; my roots are in both strict disciplines and easygoing jam sessions. It is most important to me that I have clear communication with students (and parents, if applicable) of WHY you want lessons. Do you want to execute that piano sonata with refined technique and learned musicality? Do you want to learn a few songs on a certain instrument to play along with friends? Do you want to understand the innermost mechanics and histories of music?
