    About Hayes H.

I've played sax for 27 years, bass for 22, and taught many students and performed with a variety of acts. I studied music and education at Kent State University, obtaining a bachelor's degree in 2006. Musical instruction is therapeutic for some, for for others it can be a journey to some destination. *** Lesson Details *** I'm patient and easy to get along with. When dealing with younger students I will supplement my teaching with whatever curriculum they are already studying. Each lesson will cover technique, learning pieces, ear training and improv. I deal with each student on an individual basis. *** Studio Equipment *** Large and small condensor mics, ribbon mic, multi-track digital recorder. *** Travel Equipment *** band in a box, speakers, laptop, charts. Student can provide book of choice or current material audio or manuscript. *** Specialties *** Ear training, Sax upper register development (tenor) tone development, improv.

My son decided to switch from clarinet to tenor saxophone as he enters high school. So we thought a few lessons before school would help with the transition. Hayes seems to be very knowledgeable and my son has enjoyed his lessons with him. I would recommend Hayes to anyone learning to play the saxophone.

Hayes is super helpful and encouraging. I walked in feeling a little intimidated because I haven't really played in 30 years. He made me feel very comfortable and motivated. Good first lesson.
