I holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Technology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where I studied with Dr. Henry Panion and Dr. Michael Angell. While I has a keen interest in and accomplish many of my goals via the combination of music and computers, I am a classically trained pianist. I have served as pianist and organist for churches and have taught group piano at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. I am also an accomplished arranger. I have written arrangements for Jazz Vespers, a four-horn jazz ensemble in Birmingham, Alabama. Educated in business and law, I am forever passionate about music and education. *** Lesson Details *** Lessons are tailored to the needs and aptitudes of the individual student. The Bastien method is the preferred method for the young beginner. A method for the older and adult beginner is selected based on the experience level of the student. The student’s progress is largely dependent on the student. I prefer to have fun, low-pressure lessons where the student can learn at their own pace. The student should, after six months of lessons, have an understanding of notes and rhythm sufficient to be able to play elementary pieces unassisted. Practice is important.
