I've been playing piano for 13 years and teaching for 6. As a pianist I've won superior ratings in many solo festivals. I've accompanied choirs from elementary to high school and soloists in competitions. As a piano teacher, I can help the student in a fun and relatable way. I'm a fun, experienced teacher who is able to explain and demonstrate techniques and skills so that they are easy to understand. I have experience working with special needs students and very young children. In addition to working with all ages! My specialty is beginning to intermediate levels. I've been singing for as long as I can remember! Throughout Junior high and High school I sang in many choirs and did many musicals. Some roles I performed were Rusty in "Footloose!" and Kim in "Bye Bye Birdie!" My Favorite genres to sing are Broadway and pop, but I also love classical and jazz! I've been teaching voice for about 4 years now. It is a lot of fun! In a lesson you can expect to do some silly things and sing your heart out! We will learn and practice proper vocal technique, as well as some stylistic tips to make your performance really shine! *** Lesson Details *** In a lesson, you can expect to have fun and learn a lot! For piano I use the faber method which I find to be the most effective and comprehensive. I also use a lot of supplemental music, much of which you can choose! For voice students, I provide most music. If there is a song you'd like to work on specifically, you must provide it! We will sing all styles! *** Travel Equipment *** I will provide recital music. I expect my students to provide Faber books for piano and have a piano or a full keyboard. Voice students will need to have a piano or keyboard. *** Specialties *** Special needs students, preschoolers, beginning-intermediate levels. All ages!
