I earned a Bachelors in Music Education as a percussionist in 2006 at Mansfield University. I took lessons for 8 semesters with three different teachers, so I have various teaching styles I can choose from. Also, as a music ed major I took classes on flute, clarinet, sax, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, strings, and multiple piano classes. I then went on to be a band director for 6 years. During that time I was able to give my students private and group lessons on their instruments. In addition, I had a couple private students on guitar, drums, and piano. I left the classroom to pursue a Masters Degree in Instrumental Conducting at Mansfield University. I played in the marching band, wind ensemble, and orchestra while working on my masters degree. I took more percussion lessons, which were geared towards teaching my own private studio. I was also the percussion instructor of the marching band. In July 2014 I taught a percussion summer camp at Mansfield with students ranging in ages from 10-18. I have played guitar and bass guitar since 1999, and have also taught piano classes in public schools.
