Violin with Glorimar P.

Hi my name is Glorimar I'm from Puerto Rico but now I'm living in Chicago. My Dad is a musician and like every musician who have kids he had the idea of teaching me piano since I was 6 years old. The truth is that I fell in love with the violin when I was 12 years old in a music camp and I started to take violin lessons and since the very first day I loved so much the violin class that I told my Mom that I wanted to be a great violin teacher just like mine. Once I graduated from High School I went straight to the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico, where I received a Bachelor Degree of Music with a concentration in Instrumental Music Education. I've been a private violin teacher since 2007, every time I see the face of a kid light up when he or she is playing the violin for first time is my favorite part of been a teacher. My goals are to do my Masters Degree in Music Education with a concentration in String Pedagogy at the Northwestern University, that's why I moved from Puerto Rico. *** Lesson Details *** As a violin teacher/student (yes student, because you never stop learning!) I know how hard and frustrating can be sometimes so don't worry, you will always going to have fun, and enjoy the class. Every student is different so I'm going to teach according to what they need, but you need to practice everyday. I will work first with playing the violin tune, with a correct posture and then music notation. *** Studio Equipment *** The instrument, the books and a notebook to take notes. *** Specialties *** I learned with the Suzuki Violin Method and then when I started in college I learned the traditional method and I used both to teach.
