Welcome, you are about to enter the wonderful world of singing! Whether you sing for fun or profit, it is very important to develop the skills to "take you to the next level." Anyone, amateur or professional, who has excelled at singing has had someone who worked with them to give them that extra edge when they step up to the microphone. I started teaching 25 years ago, and have attended and completed several summer singing schools where I studied vocal technique, the breathing system, resonance, sight reading, pitch recognition and how to develop interpretive skills. I also studied the physics of sound as it pertains to the human voice. I work most of the time with individuals, but have also worked with small groups such as trios and quartets as well as choirs and choruses. I have had the opportunity to run clinics here in the U.S.A. and Canada, working with people as they prepare for special events such as recitals, concerts and even contests such as American Idol and X-Factor tryouts here in Dallas. Singing is fun, so let's get to it! *** Lesson Details *** When You Come To Us: You will be evaluated as to where you are right now and that is where we will start. You will learn proper breathing skills, vocal placement and vowel sound production. You will learn about resonance and sound production, sight reading and interpretation of the song. We will share with you the tools needed to tell a story in the performance. Above all we want to share with you is that singing is fun when all of these elements come together. *** Studio Equipment *** Family room: piano, music stands, microphone, additional seating for parents. *** Specialties *** While I like to teach any style of singing, I particularly enjoy working with harmony.
