PLAY LIKE YOU MEAN IT! I'll teach you how. *** Lesson Details *** Learn to read the natural notes in first position, then quickly move on to building chords without using a guitar neck diagram. This will help you really understand the basis of fret-board theory. After you have the Aha! Moment we move on to more chords, strum patterns, songs, and Pop music of your choice! It is so important for guitarist to know what they are doing rather than just press where a diagram tells you to. Learn how to create chords and how to play them in different ways all over the neck! I show you how easy it is to learn not just play the guitar, but to have a working knowledge of what is going on musically. *** Studio Equipment *** Guitars: Larrivee (Acoustic), Squier Standard Telecaster, RG series Ibanez. Amps: Fender Mustang I, Peavy Classic 30 Effects: Line 6 PODHD500X, various stomp boxes *** Travel Equipment *** I usually use either an acoustic or electric guitar and small practice amp. I expect my students to have their own guitar, tuner, and metronome. *** Specialties *** I specialize in Pop and Rock guitar. I start by teaching correct posture, basic note reading and chord building, then move on to chord progression and complete songs. Teaching a deeper understanding of the guitar is my main goal. I aim to have students who know not only how to play, but what they are playing.
