About Me

Ready to have a fun time on the piano? I am the teacher to have! Fresas attended the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts where she was involved in the piano, choral, and theater departments. She participated in numerous competitions including the MTNA Young Artist Performance Competition. In college, she was involved with the University Choir and Gospel Choir where she was a featured soloist. She received her simultaneous Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and ... Music from UC Berkeley, with an emphasis on piano performance. She also obtained an Executive Master of Business Administration from Colorado Technical University. She had the opportunity to perform for the US troops as a singer in Qatar and Afghanistan first in October 2007 and recently in February 2009. She is a faculty member of the La Jolla Conservatory of Music and served as an accompanist for the San Diego Children's Choir. She has been active with the Philippine American Community of San Diego County since winning the titles of Miss Philippines San Diego County in 2006 and Miss RP-San Diego Tourism in 2007. Aside from teaching piano, she teaches college-level courses, works as the local Center Representative for the Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory The Achievement Program, and is involved with the California Association of Professional Music Teachers as the State Treasurer and District Membership and Referral Chair. She also composes her own music and is always eager to share that music with other music lovers. She continues to perform around San Diego County in various events.

Lesson Details

My lessons are informal and engaging. I do not follow a strict schedule and leave room for creativity and spontaneity. I follow the Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory The Achievement Program curriculum, a national standard and pioneer in music education, and I encourage my students each year to take the exams for musicianship and theory for the appropriate grade level. I incorporate my classical piano training in my lessons, and my interests span from jazz piano, gospel, to contemporary music. ... My teaching philosophy entails the acknowledgment that each piano student is different and that is why I'm a firm believer in having a personalized yet structured lesson, so that it promotes creativity while strengthening the technical aspect of each student. My teaching style consists of intense training in virtuosic technique while incorporating musicality and expression into the music. My method of teaching is one that is driven with motivation, dedication, consistency, and persistence. I am very enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge of music to anyone who is interested in making music a fun and wonderful learning experience.
