Music is my passion! I am currently a free-lance musician in San Antonio. I teach oboe and piano lessons and sell handmade oboe reeds, both to my own students and across the country. I have taught private music lessons for over eleven years. My greatest motivation is sharing my love of music. Lessons with me are never boring. I always strive to show my students how exciting and fun mastering an instrument can be. Not every student desires to be a virtuoso, but every student deserves the opportunity to gain a better understanding and love of music and their chosen instrument. I have thirteen years of piano training with three different instructors, including Dr. Donald Speer at Western Kentucky University. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music performance from Western Kentucky University, where I studied oboe and English horn with Dr. Michele Fiala, and a master's degree in music performance from Arizona State University, where I studied oboe with Martin Schuring. I have given seven solo recitals and have been a soloist with several groups. I have a wide range of ensemble experience, from orchestras to chamber groups. I also studied composition for 2 years with Dr. Michael Kallstrom and have composed and published 2 chamber works.
