I fell in love with the violin at age seven under the instruction of Natalie Colbert at E. Rivers Elementary School in Atlanta, GA. I studied violin through high school and college, and received a BA in Communications with a Minor in Music from Georgia State University. After a lifelong study of the violin, I began to play the viola as a happy accident. As an undergraduate student in college, my chamber music group needed a violist to play the Schubert Trout Quintet. Never one to turn down a challenge, I jumped right in and never looked back, and have played viola in addition to violin ever since. I'm eager and enthusiastic to share my knowledge of music. I am passionate about enabling students to express themselves through music. I teach students of all ages, but particularly love working with kids. My lessons are filled with fun and games! I am an active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the American String Teachers Association, and The Chamber Music Network. I completed my first unit of Suzuki teacher training with Carrie Reuning-Hummel, Units 2 and 3 with Judy Bossuat-Gallic, and will continue with Unit 4 in 2015. I currently play violin in the Brooklyn Symphony, and play both violin and viola in chamber music groups. *** Studio Equipment *** Apple Logic Pro *** Specialties *** Teaching young children Suzuki Lessons Traditional Lessons
