I teach from multiple methods. The books that I have my current students in have selections from all the major periods of music (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Contemporary/Jazz).

Lesson Details

I am more of a laid back teacher. In my opinion, it is all about letting the student completely soak in the information that is presented to them. Lessons are meant to be enjoyed and fun.

I teach out of a variety of methods. I don't like putting my students into a box by having them all play out of the same method. Different methods are made because every student is NOT the same. I gladly recognize the fact that my students are all different from one another and their musical needs are ... definitely not identical. Each student has his/her own books that will best meet their needs as a musician.

After three to six months, the student will have learned how to properly read and count music, and they will also be able to play songs that we all know and love!

Hey everyone!

My name is Erika, and I am a piano instructor.

I've had the privilege of taking over 19 years in piano lessons in which I have played A LOT of beautiful pieces. I have a vast repertoire that includes pieces from every major musical period. Though I do enjoy all types of music, I have to admit that I love love LOVE the Romantic period. Chopin, Brahms, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff are some of my favorite composers. Over the years, I have been able to enjoy the benefits of ... Certificate of Merit programs, recitals, and performances for both non-profit and profit.

Right now, I am currently seeking a music degree at the University of California at Riverside, where I can further enhance my musicianship as a pianist and music teacher. There is always something exciting and new to learn in music.

I am proud and thrilled with being able to say that I have been teaching piano for just about 3 years now. Lessons, with my students are an absolute blast and I look forward to each and every time that I get to see and hear my students play and have fun while doing so.
