Violin with Elliott R.

Hi, my name is Elliott and I am a native of Penn Hills, Pa. My primary instrument is the trombone which I started playing at the age of 9. I also played violin, cello, and electric bass. I received my bachelor's degree from Edinboro University of Pa and my master's degree from New Jersey City University majoring in music education and performance. I am currently a member of the Pittsburgh Musicians Union and Delegate for the American Federation of Musicians of the U.S. and Canada. I am also a member of the Music Educators National Conference, Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and the International Trombone Association. I have performed with the Harold Betters, Trombone Forum Big Band, and the North Suburban Symphonic Band. *** Lesson Details *** I currently teach at the WPCC Melody Shop in West Mifflin, Pa. I teach brass, strings, and woodwind instruments. I am a laid back music teacher. When I teach, I try to make music fun and enjoying while still teaching the basic fundamentals. I pick specific things for my students to practice but I also let them play things they like so they continue to enjoy music and want to learn more. *** Specialties *** I specialize in the form and analysis of music.
