    About Edward G.

Hello! My name is Eddie. I've been playing Piano and Keyboards for 35 years I come from a long line of musicians, I learned music theory at a very early age and started performing at 15. I am bilingual so i can teach both in English and Spanish. I love all kinds of music Rock Pop Latin Jazz. One of the things that motivated me to start teaching was my own experience as a student, one of my first teachers was very strict and boring, one wanted me to play like him, one actually tapped me on the head if I made a mistake reading. I believe music should be a fun experience, music should allow you to express your feelings, so I decided that if I taught I would make it fun and make sure the student has immediate results. Let's learn and have fun! The student will be playing a song after 1 or 2 lessons. My influences in Jazz Easy Listening are: Sting, Gino Vanelly, Pat Metheny, Michael Franks, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Spyro Gyra, Jeff Lorber, Chick Corea, George Benson, Larry Carlton, Quincy Jones. My influences in Rock/Pop are: Daryl Hall, Marvin Gay, Sade, Journey, Boston, Brian Adams, Michael Bubble, David Foster, Elton John, Billy Joel. Sergio Mendez. *** Lesson Details *** Whether is Piano lessons, Music/Audio recording or Song Writing lessons I use curricula that are used at the best schools of music. That curricula adapted to my experience in the real world has allowed me to teach on a way that is tailored to the student needs; and at the same time it makes it fun for the student. A Piano/Keyboard lesson usually looks like this: 1. We start with strength and dexterity exercises with scales. These also help with timing and reading. 2. I'll answer any questions the student may have and we'll start learning Harmony and/or music theory. 3. We end the class by learning or practice a song so that the student gets a sense of accomplishment. A student can develop repertoire and give a recital and/or join a band while also learning music. I encourage the student to pick their own songs. I want the students to learn and have fun learning. I use Hannon to get strength and dexterity, and I split the lessons in 3: theory, practice, and song learning. A Recording lesson usually looks like this: 1. Learn the terminology and Icons of the recording Program 2. We write or copy a song from the ground up using virtual and MIDI Instruments 3. Record audio, Voice and Acoustic Instruments 4. Mix the song, levels, correct timing, pitch correction and effects. 5.
