Edgardo is a Percussionist, Vocalist, Educator and Band Leader with over 33 years of professional experience. A much in demand musician in the U.S.A. he has performed or recorded with artist like Jesus Chucho Valdes, Eddie Palmieri, Santana, Jerry Rivera, Keith Terry, Omar Sosa, Andy Narell, and Rebeca Mauleon among many others. He teaches at the Berkeley Jazz School Of Music as well as been a member of the SF Jazz Festival Educators roaster. An LP (Latin Percussion) instruments endorser, he has traveled world wide as an LP clinician. He leads the acclaimed multi-recording Salsa Band Candela,€ founded in 1987, and the 4tet "LaTiDo" both Bands are Bay Area favorites among Salsa dancers and Latin Jazz music lovers. *** Lesson Details *** Edgardo'€™s style of teaching is fun, easy going, and very effective, utilizing the skills learned not just in the music field but also as a graduated of the National Institute of Physical Education (Buenos Aires, Argentina.) Edgardo teaches students how to play correctly, while focusing on been musical.€ You and-or your kids will have fun playing Congas, Bonga, Timbales, Guiro, Maracas, Claves, Chékere, etc. Learn: Rumba, Son, Guajira, Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha, Merengue, Cumbia, Bomba, and more...But more importantly: learn the correct technique for each instrument. All Levels Welcome! A typical lesson (regardless of the instrument in question) would consist of 15€™ to 20€™ of warm ups and technique exercises, followed by learning new rhythms, to be often concluded with €œjamming€ with the teacher and with accompanying music using pre-recorded tracks. Edgardo is also an accomplished vocalist, often encouraging and teaching the students how to sing while playing if they wish to explore that as well..
