Dylan is a versatile musician who has played with symphony orchestras, big bands, Latin bands, Broadway pit orchestras, rock/pop cover bands around the world.  In 2013, he brings a distinctive approach to traditional music, as well as new. Dylan has studied drums and percussions with top notch drummers such as: Greg Bissonette (Ringo Star, Maynard Ferguson), Gregg Gerson (Mick Jagger), Kevin Winard (Sergio Mendes), Jimmy Branly (Poncho Sanchez). Dylan S. studied at California State University in Northridge, earning a degree in drumset jazz performance. During his studies, he had the opportunity to play with some of the greats from Clark Terry to Adam Rogers.  Dylan’s drumming has been well-received in nightclubs and at festivals up and down the West Coast.  After college, Dylan traveled the world for two years performing aboard Celebrity and Royal Caribbean cruise lines. For Celebrity, he performed in intimate jazz groups such as the Dara Tucker Quartet and Estrada Trio. On Royal Caribbean Dylan played in the Showband accompanying guest entertainers which required Dylan to know a plethora of different styles. "Dylan S. was a pleasure to work with. Some of the topics cover in my lesson include: music notation, rudiments, sticking patterns, different music styles, drum-set familiarization, practice techniques, grip/stick technique. During our sessions, we will also play along to backing tracks, songs of your choosing, click tracks (metronomes), and above all, our time together will be fun, as well as educational. *** Studio Equipment *** Premier drum set and a Roland TD20K drum-set *** Travel Equipment *** I will supply the drum pads. *** Specialties *** All styles!
