I am a musician in the scene! I play out once a week at least and have been for the last three years or so. I try to keep myself educated in many forms of music but guitar is my FORTE (lol); I've won the 2012 ShredKing contest sponsored by local venue The Intersection and received multiple reviews for my playing in local band Flood the Desert! *** Lesson Details *** Guitar is a wonderfully versatile instrument that anyone can learn to have a great time with! Whether you just want 3 chords for a campfire jam session or the full-on sweep picking, tapping, and harmonics of more intense compositions I can certainly help you achieve your goals. I've been playing for 10 years and have plenty of live experience. I believe everyone has the power to be a great singer! The fundamentals of a powerful voice are easy to learn, but difficult to master, but my "casual singing" approach is a fun way to encourage using the most exercised part of our voice: the part we speak with! Learn everything from traditional warm-ups to those of silly noises as well as learning physical and mental techniques for performing more elaborate pieces. I have a flexible curriculum based on student preference, familiarity, and ability level and each topic can be expanded on to create great well-balanced performers. I also teach piano and bass at a variety of skill levels! *** Specialties *** My "forte" is the guitar. I can teach all the way up to advanced two-handed techniques and sweep-flat-economy-etc. picking. I also have had extensive music theory training and application as well as a classical singing background.
