-14+ years of guitar, drum, and performance experience. A military-brat born in Sacramento, California. Dennis spent the early years of his life on numerous bases in the US and overseas where his exposure to various people with different backgrounds and interests certainly influenced his eclectic taste in music. Dennis joined his school band at age 11, as a percussionist, and participated in orchestral, marching, and performance activities gaining experience on drum-set, marching drums (Snare, Bass, and Tenor), and auxiliaries like marimbas, hand-drums, tympani, and cymbals with emphasis in all genres from Jazz, Country, Rock, and Classical. Due to demand of multi-instrumental students, Dennis soon picked up guitar, bass, and piano to cover parts on various songs with emphasis in the same genres listed above. Dennis currently runs a home-studio and YouTube channel that promotes and collaborates with local artists to deliver music news, produce originals, covers, and music spoofs. *** Lesson Details *** My methods of teaching are dynamic in nature. I believe communication is the key component to effective learning; therefore, I tailor my style and methods depending on the personality, requests, and preferences of my students. I am a very animated, laid-back, individual. So, I tend to teach in a style that encompasses and exudes learning WITH FUN, in a more relaxed environment. However, for those who require or like a more directed approach, or for parents who want their children to have more of a focus on capability, I am completely comfortable with delivering a tutoring experience that has more emphasis on ability and progression. Most importantly, I deliver whatever my student wants, whether they prefer learning the basics in guitar or drums for terminology, technique, chords, rhythms, and songs; or they want more intricate lessons involving instrument history, maintenance, and techniques tailored to their preferable genre style. *** Studio Equipment *** Electric or Acoustic guitar can be provided if needed. Electronic drumset for in-studio lessons and can not be provided if traveling. Portable grand piano is available in studio, as well. Numerous picks, guitar straps, cleaner, and amps available. However, no instruments provided for lessons can be taken home. *** Travel Equipment *** Electronic drumset can not be provided if traveling. Acoustic and electric guitars can be provided if needed. Numerous picks, guitar straps, cleaner, and amps available. However, no instrument provided for lessons can be kept at students home.
