I've studied with some of the finest brass players in the US and completed my Bachelors degree in Trombone Performance at the University of Arizona. My performing background is a balanced mix of classical and commercial ensembles. I've played in symphony orchestras, pit orchestras, show bands, jazz bands, chamber ensembles fronting my own groups, and then some. It all starts with learning the basics and that's how I approach brass playing with my students (which includes trumpet, cornet, bugle, french horn, trombone, bass trombone, baritone/euphonium, and tuba) . I have many years experience teaching in-studio, in-house, and online, as well as brass coaching in public schools.. Students learn efficient technique, production of a beautiful tone, range building, overall musicality in many styles, ear-training, sight-reading and music theory. *** Lesson Details *** I place an emphasis on building embouchure, breathing, posture, musical interpretation, ear-training, sight-reading and theory. I encourage relaxation while enjoying making music.
