Welcome! Music is such a special part of being human, and I believe anyone who wishes to play music is able to develop a deep, fulfilling and life-affirming connection with it. I hold a bachelor's degree in Music from USC’s Thornton School and have taught music at the Wesley School in North Hollywood for the past nine years. I work with musicians of all levels in piano and voice, and work with beginning guitar students. For me, music is a society. It is a space into which the best of human creativity and human hope and aspiration can enter and prosper. It is also perhaps the most complicated and most sophisticated of all human activities. And it comes down to feelings and story. I encourage my students to follow their inspiration and get to know themselves as an artist with a voice. I provide basic technical training in the hopes that at a certain point they will be able to get their own music that they hear in their heads out into the world.
I am passionate about unlocking and developing creativity in artists of all ages, and have extensive experience working with children and adolescents. I played piano for FX's "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia", developed lead characters for Broadway shows, composed theme songs and jingles for KYSR & online platforms, and have had my music placed on TV (CW: 90210, One Tree Hill)

David is an amazing teacher. He is very patient with the student's learning process while remaining encouraging. He gave me just the right amount of push to keep my skills improving. It can be very overwhelming for an adult to learn a new musical instrument (piano for me), but David's mastery of music coupled with his upbeat and joyful personality make the process really enjoyable. I highly recommend David to teach both adults and children. He teaches piano and guitar lessons to the two teenage children of a friend of mine, and they both love him.

I recently saw a holiday vocal performance that David instructed and moderated. I could tell he has a true talent with men and women of all ages, but especially children. He offers patience and innovation in his work. He had his classes (1st - 5th Grade, I believe) write a story board based on how they felt about certain topics during the holidays, and David was able to compile a masterpiece of original songs that had some of the audience in tears. He also seems like a very talented pianist, and he must be a great composer since her composed the songs as well for the performance. I would recommend him to friends and family, and really feel that is he truly gifted at what he does.

David's instruction was thoughtful, manageable and carefully crafted to my specific needs. He was always prepared, and way more patient and kind to me, than I was even to myself. Most importantly, I felt safe to explore my inner artist without judgement and with complete support from David. He's both a great teacher and person.
