I have a number of different methods that I use to teach depending on the students learning. I believe that each student is unique in their own way of taking in information, and they all have a different way of being inspired and taught in a way that will help them retain information effectively. I am broad enough in my knowledge of different styles, genres and methods that I can use this to adapt to any teaching situation. Lesson Details

I use various types of learning tools depending on each student. I feel that my students will learn based on a customized lesson based on their own skills, passions, and motivations. My lessons are custom built for each of my students. If you want to learn pop music, we will play, live, breath, and love pop music, and then use this to inspire a universal understanding to other styles as well. When I started playing drums, I was in a rock band. I couldn't read music, and I also had very little ... understanding of other styles of music. However after learning about how rhythm and music can be universal, it opened my mind to learning new styles and a whole different world of music that I never knew existed.

Hey everyone! My name is Davey J. I live in Brookline Massachusetts and I am willing to travel to teach you whatever you want to learn on the drums. I am a recent Berklee college of Music Graduate, and I just moved back from Austin Texas where I was playing drums professionally. Please let me know if you have any questions at all! I can even bring my drum kit to lessons if you would like me to.

I believe that a quality learning environment comes from passion, positive motivation, and an open mind. I want to inspire students to soak up information like a sponge. I want supply every tool possible to help them achieve their goals, no-matter how big or small they may seem.

Experience and Accomplishments:

Graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Berklee College of Music in May 2010

Directed and taught the summer music program at the YMCA in Austin Texas during Summer of 2011.

Worked professionally as a drummer full time in Austin Texas from Fall 2010-Fall 2011, also performed with a number of artists in SXSW.

Played in a number of different bands all over the country, blues, funk, hip hop and even played with DJ's.

Musical Director and drummer for a gospel band at the Rush Memorial A.M.E Zion Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, participated in all Sunday Services and special event services

Providing entertainment to a number of venues in the Boston area as well as proms, weddings and corporate events as a mobile DJ.

Studied with many renowned drummers and educators such as Dave Dicenso, Rod Morgenstein, Terri Lynn Carrington, Larry Finn, Mike Mangini, John Blackwell and Jackie Santos.

Studied abroad in Athens, Greece during the spring semester of 2009, at the Phillipos Nakas Conservatory. Have taken in-depth courses at Berklee College of Music Since 2006, and fully immersing myself within a study of Music Education, Performance and even psychology.
