I have been playing the guitar for 30 years, and to date have recorded and produced 8 cds of my original instrumental music. I have performed in numerous bands over the years, currently I lead a jazz/rock instrumental trio, and play in a Spanish pop/rock/folk band. I also have over 20 years of experience recording and producing music, and am passionate about recording and audio technology. *** Lesson Details *** I have been teaching for 25 years, and have experience with both individual and group lessons. My teaching philosophy is based on the idea that learning and playing music should be highly enjoyable, and that each student is different and deserves a carefully considered course of instruction. I tailor my lessons toward the student's goals, however specific or general they may be. My approach to curriculum is somewhat open-ended to serve this aim. I try to incorporate some unorthodox approaches to broaden the student’s learning experience. Besides helping to develop technical proficiency, I like to teach some music theory (depending on age of student) and improvisation skills to gain confidence on the instrument. I have taught a lot of beginners, and I am very sensitive to the student’s progress and sharing what I have to offer that can expand his/her musical understanding. *** Studio Equipment *** Living room, clear space for lessons *** Travel Equipment *** All student equipment needs to be provided by the student.
