Lesson Details

I like to individualize my lessons plans for each student, and focus on what they want to learn. For example if a student has a particular piece that they really want to learn then I like to find creative ways to allow that student to meet their goal. I have noticed in my teaching experience that this technique creates incentive for the student to keep practicing and it also challenges and pushes the student and allows them to meet their full potential.
Most of all I like to have fun while ... teaching! I like being spontaneous and having the freedom to gear a lesson towards the student’s personality and learning style.
Overall my teaching style is pretty laid back, but contains enough structure and discipline that a student can have fun and learn at the same time.

Most importantly my focus is on you getting the most out of a lesson as possible.

I have been a piano teacher for 3 years, taught many different types of people, and have played the piano for about 17 years. I was a classical piano major at Rhode Island College, so my particular passion is teaching classical piano (Go “Moonlight Sonata”!) but it also invigorates me when students are passionate about a particular genre and really have a desire to learn. Regardless of experience, knowledge, age or gender I am willing to teach if a student is willing to dedicate themselves ... to learning!
