Danae is an MTNA Nationally Certified Teacher and award-winning composer with a degree in Piano Performance, and over a decade of teaching and composition experience. Teaching Philosophy: Danae is dedicated to providing an environment that promotes the highest potential of each student. The focus of lessons is on musical knowledge, technical precision, and artistic expression. These goals serve the purpose of fostering a lifelong enjoyment of music. *** Lesson Details *** The overall course of study is built on the foundation of traditional European-style conservatory studies (including the possibility of studying theory and composition, along with technique and repertoire). Individual lessons are geared toward the desires of each individual student and non-classical repertoire is welcomed when it is appropriate for the level of the student. The studio is equipped with both acoustic grand and digital pianos, allowing students to choose lessons on the instrument with which they feel most comfortable. *** Studio Equipment *** Kawai RX2 Acoustic Grand Piano Yamaha CLP-430 Clavinova Digital Piano *** Specialties *** Mrs V. works with students of all ages but specializes in teaching composition to younger students, which is exceedingly rare in the standard musical curriculum in the United States. Her personal motivation for this comes from her professional work as a composer and her desire to share this creative joy with young students. Mrs V. also specializes in working with adult students (of all levels) and has had a thriving studio of adult students for over 7 years, allowing new adult students to join a studio with "built in" camaraderie and support from other adults.
