Piano with Cory H.

Dr. Cory H. has been teaching music and acting since 2003 and is currently available to teach lessons at your home, at his studio, and online. Dr. H. has helped students express themselves through music and performance for over 10 years. He teaches piano, voice, and acting in all styles for all ages. As a musician, Dr. H. received his training at The Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, Boston University, and San Diego State University where he received multiple degrees in music including his Doctorate and two Masters degrees. He is currently on faculty at San Diego State University where he teaches Music Theory and Composition. Previously, he has taught music at The Peabody Conservatory, Southwestern College, and was the composer-in-residence at the San Diego Opera. As an actor, Cory studied theatre at the prestigious British American Drama Academy at Oxford University where he worked with actors Ben Kingsly and Alan Rickman and directors Deborah Warner and Irina Brown. He recently moved to San Diego from New York City where he appeared in numerous film, television, and theatrical productions both musical and non-musical. Previously, he has taught acting and theatre at the La Jolla Playhouse and Canyon Crest Academy. He has also served as musical director for various productions in New York and San Diego. As an expert in his field, Dr. H. looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals. Cory's teaching style is nurturing, honest, and fun.
