Guitar with Collin M.

Collin has a BA in Classical Guitar which he received in 2008 from Idaho State University. He is currently working on his teaching certification in Biology with an emphasis in adolescent and teen instruction. Collin has been teaching for over 10 years and has a wealth of knowledge to draw from to help his students succeed. Collin offers many different lessons and will customize a lesson plan for each student. Collin has played with many great musicians and has also done some recording and studio work. Collin's first band Soul Cats was a very popular SLC band who he toured and recorded with. Collin also has played with Johnny Knight, who played with Rick James and Albert King. He has also traveled to Europe with a Jazz Band and played with countless Pocatello area bands, including Somewhere in the Middle, Spittin' Lynt, Greybeard, and many more. *** Lesson Details *** The standard lesson will consist of: 1. Learning to read standard notation, chords, and tabs. 1a. This will include sight reading, rhythm studies, listening exercises, and of course playing full pieces of music. 2. Hand Position, technique, scales, and studying habits 2a. You will learn the proper technique needed to play your instrument and style with precision, and efficiency. 3. Theory, and Songwriting 3a. Students will be taught basic to advanced music theory, including harmonization, notation, and songwriting. In addition to this Collin is a bright and energetic teacher who will inspire, and support you to become the best musician you can be.
