    About Colby P.

My name is Colby P. and I've been teaching drum set lessons professionally for the past 5 years. Through my experience, I've found that connecting with the student is most important and strive to make sure that all students get the most out of each lesson. I've been performing in touring/working groups since the age of 16. I'm currently teaching private lessons, recording with various artists, and gigging out with local cover groups. I am interested in teaching anybody who desires to expand their knowledge on the instrument and gain from what I have to offer. *Featured artist in "New Blood" section of March 2013 issue of Drum! Magazine *Sam Ash 2011 "Best In Drums" state finalist *Recorded with Lee Dyes of Earth Sound Studios (Mayday Parade, From First To Last), Brett Hestla of BHP Productions and Creed (Framing Hanley), and Tom Denney (A Day To Remember, Pierce The Veil) *Experienced in many different playing styles (rock, jazz, funk, world, hip hop, country, marching, metal, reggae) *Taught over 2,500 lessons to students ranging from ages 5 to 50.  *** Lesson Details *** In lessons, I will be covering anything the student desires. I firmly believe that if you know where you are going, you will get there faster. I'm also a believer in being well educated and versatile. For example, if a student strictly wants to become a metal drummer, we will travel that road while also understanding to a certain degree the elements of hip hop, swing, reggae, etc. *** Studio Equipment *** Lessons will take place in a private rehearsal studio and a full four piece drum kit with hi-hat and cymbals will be provided. Students are recommended to bring their own sticks. *** Travel Equipment *** If traveling to the student, the student is required to have a full drum kit and/or a practice pad and sticks. *** Specialties *** I specialize in creative approach, finding your own voice, general gigging advice, networking, recording, and live performance.
