Hey future student! *** Travel Equipment *** I provide books, sheet music, audio recordings, drum machines, and stands. I ask my students to provide an interest to learn, grow, and HAVE FUN! *** Specialties *** I teach general musicianship skills in all genres, with specialization in saxophone, audio engineering, and music production. Within instrumental lessons, I teach jazz saxophone. Improvisatory skills, ear training, phrasing, concepts of jazz styles, fundamental theory, and helping the student find their own voice are all a part of my teaching process. I use interactive materials like Play-A-Longs and professional recordings and employ first-hand demonstration of concepts, all of which are vital for the beginning to advanced jazz musician to learn to their fullest potential. I utilize patterns and exercises I've acquired from master teachers to improve the student's facility and connection with the saxophone. All of these teaching tools enhance my students' concept of music, aural skills, and ability to solo and perform. Within audio engineering and music production, I teach track creation and mixing. Students will learn how to use the most relevant programs in the industry today such as Pro Tools, Logic, and Reason. They will acquire skills to create tracks of any genres by programming drums and MIDI instruments. If the student owns a drum machine, lessons are available on this as well. I teach students how to mix a song as well, balancing and processing audio and MIDI tracks to create a colorful and inspiring professional sounding recording.
