All Styles, Use the Chapin book, Stick Control and many many more. Rock, Jazz, Country, Latin
As far as what you can expect from me, I am a pretty laid back teacher. I tailor your program to your goals. If you want music to be a hobby or a vocation I can help you attain those goals. I use only the best and widely supported books and approach. • First, develop the hands. I use the George Stone book, Stick Control for this. • Second, independence. For this, I use the Jim Chapin book, Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer. • Third, learning all the basic drum beats.
I use a number of books, techniques, as well as all kinds of recorded music for this. You will get your own personalized lesson plan every week. I will also spend as much time as you want learning any song that you want to learn.
OK, so who is Clinton L? First let me say that I am a person who loves music and loves to teach! I was very lucky in that my father was a musician. His main instrument was the Steel Guitar but he played just about every instrument except drums. That is how I kind of got my start and I followed in his footsteps.
I started banging on the drums when I was 8 years old. When I was a sophomore in High School I joined the Stage Band as well as starting a combo. I actually did my first
professional gig when I was 13. Our stage band won numerous awards. It was an honor to have had the opportunity to contribute to that success. I was also fortunate enough to celebrate a few outstanding musician awards along the way.
After high school, it was off to NTSU, now UNT. I was lucky enough to get a scholarship and attended UNT for over six years. It was then that I began private teaching.
Now I am a full time musician and teacher. I believe one of my biggest strengths is the ability to communicate with all levels of students and work at their pace. Besides being professionally trained I have had the opportunity to not only study but to also play almost every kind of music. I have studied with internationally acclaimed teachers and clinicians as well as sharing the stage with big name entertainers such as Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Johnny Cash, Blood Sweat and Tears, and the Doobie Brothers just to name a few. I am adept at teaching all styles, both by ear and by music. Regardless if you are just picking up the sticks or you are more advanced and want to take your chops to the next level, I can assist you in achieving your goals. And if you do decide to study with me, having fun is also guaranteed!
In-Studio: I have a home studio dedicated to teaching. You will be playing on a state of the art, Roland TD 20 electronic kit. I also have the ability to record our sessions.
In-Home: I have everything you need including drum sticks.

Excited about jumping into music lessons? Before you can get to the
guitar tabs, violin concertos, and vocal riffs, take a moment to think
about the logistics of your lessons.
There are a few things to consider when choosing between 30-, 45- or
60-minute lessons. First and foremost, take your age and experience
level into account. You'll also want to think about your long- and
short-term goals, and the time you'll need to reach them. Most
importantly, consider how long you or your child is able to stay
Teachers have the option to display availability for in-home,
in-studio, and online music lessons. In-home lessons take place at
your house, in-studio lessons are conducted at the teacher's home or
professional studio, and online lessons are taught over the internet
via live video chat.

Start Your Lessons
Now the excitement can really begin! Consider the following to ensure an
exceptional first lesson...
Prepare for Your First Lesson
Once you've completed the last step, your teacher will call you within
the next couple of days to confirm your first lesson time and provide
you with directions to their studio, if needed. We also encourage you
to discuss your goals and any other questions you may have.
What To Expect
Every teacher is different, but most first lessons begin with an
assessment of where you are in your studies. At a beginner level, you
might review the basics of your instrument, such as the different
parts, how to hold it correctly, and proper care and maintenance. For
voice, this may be the time you learn about breathing and posture.

Every TakeLessons student is unique, and so is your lesson plan!
You'll work with your instructor to develop a plan suited to meet your
