Learn to Play Any Style of Guitar With An Experienced Teacher with Over 15+ Years Experience

The guitar is a fantastic and extremely popular instrument. Many people can pick up a guitar and play a few chords, or sing one song. I strong urge guitarist who come to me to be interested in learning the musician aspects of the guitar as well. Most people who learn to play an instrument have to learn theory, scales, and harmony as well. On the guitar you do not have to learn these things to be able to "play" the instrument but I urge people to because that will show in the music you make.

About Christopher S.

Hello! Hola! Benvenuto! My name is Christopher S. and I am a classical guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer, polyglot, and experienced language and music teacher. I hold a Doctor of Music Arts degree in Guitar Performance and a Minor in Music Theory from the University of South Carolina. In 2016, I graduated with my M.M. from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. There I studied with the world-renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk who is a direct student of the legendary guitarist Andres Segovia. Since 2014, I have been giving online and in-person classes in music and languages here on TakeLessons. From my home studio, I teach ukulele, Spanish, Italian, and English to students across the world. Recently in 2021, I completed my second album titled, "Neo: Modernism & the Guitar," which can be heard on any of the listening platforms. I also teach both guitar and music theory at the local college. After I graduated with my undergraduate degree, I realized that in order to better my skills as a musician and become the guitar teacher I wanted to be I had to travel abroad. I moved to Seville, Spain where for three years I studied the art of classical and flamenco guitar. I studied with an internationally known Spanish guitarist named Francisco Bernier at the Conservatory in Seville. During this time I was also teaching English as a second language to high school and middle school students. From traveling and spending so much time in Europe, I also developed and studied my love of languages and I became fluent in Spanish and Italian. If you are interested in having lessons with me, please contact me and we can begin learning the art of making beautiful music or learning the beautiful languages of the Mediterranean! "Hasta pronto!" "A presto!" and speak to you soon!

Christopher is very kind, patient and encouraging. Always pushing me out of my comfort zone which was a great way to help me progress and feel more confident in my ukulele learning journey. Highly recommend.
