    About Chetan T.

While Chetan is a performing artist first, he does maintain a small piano studio. If you would like to inquire about taking lessons with Chetan, click on the contact link above. As a private teacher, Mr. T. brings students an insight from the highest level while providing patient advice that is tailored to the needs of each student. No two students are alike, and therefore a different approach must be taken with each one. Chetan specializes in giving the essential tools for his students to flourish while providing a love for music and maintaining high standards. He is also great at taking proven students and bringing them to a higher level, sometimes fixing problems that may have occurred during a previous learning process. Mr. T. teaches that music is a cool and rewarding experience and that students deserve to see it that way. He is well versed in many styles of music and is excited to pass these on to his students as well. - Lessons are always at the students home, which Mr. T. finds beneficial to the comfort of learning. - While he specializes in highly advanced students, their ability does not play a role in his decision to take on the student or not, even with beginners. The student just needs to have a supportive family and a general natural ability with the instrument. - He teaches some adults on a more selective basis. - The basics of piano playing always start from the classical perspective, but as the student progresses, elements of pop, movie music, songwriting, and improvising, can be learned upon request. BIOGRAPHY Chetan T., a Yamaha artist, is an American concert pianist, composer, and songwriter. He has been seen on concert stages across America, Europe, Asia and Africa in solo recital, with orchestra, and with his art pop group, The Mosaic Quartet. While he has earned top prizes, performing in the world's most prestigious piano competitions, including the Van Cliburn, Queen Elizabeth, Jose Iturbi, Seoul, Unisa, Hilton Head, and New Orleans, he has been at the forefront of innovative classical piano evolution. "My sole purpose as an artist is to connect the audience with the music and give them an intense experience they cannot let go." Chetan says. His Carnegie Hall debut in 2006 was praised as "magnificent" by the NY Concert Review and his charismatic persona and emotional style have led to many praises from audiences and critics alike. "T. held piano lovers on the edge of their seats." says Chris Waddington from The Times-Picaynne in New Orleans. "Pianist Chetan T., Magic and Mastery!" says Lyn Bronson from Peninsula Reviews. An avid songwriter and composer through his musical development, Chetan stumbled into the right pieces when he co-founded The Mosaic Quartet in early 2012. The band developed their sound around the piano using Chetan's abilities and those of two other accomplished pianists. Their sound can be described as virtuosic piano riffs alongside celestial guitar-scapes and pads, a driving rhythm section, and sincere, catchy vocals. The Mosaic Quartet caught the ear of 12 time Grammy winning producer T-Bone Burnett who helped their development in the early stages. They teamed up with management and are planning the release of their first full length record. Chetan began playing the piano immediately after birth and later his father would tie him to his lap, point to the piano keys, and Chetan would play. His father was his first teacher and worked with him daily developing his talents. At the age of 8 Chetan began more traditional lessons. He gives much credit to his former teachers Hans Boepple, who he worked with in high school and Antonio Pompa-Baldi at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He spent the last decade performing all over the world, and while he still performs regularly, his attention is drawn to the undeniable potential of The Mosaic Quartet.
