HEALTH COACHING & NUTRITION LECTURES - I'm a Board Certified health coach and currently teach groups and individuals about healthy living, food, cooking and exercising. I love helping people get healthier and happier!!! I am certified and teach YOGA, ZUMBA AND TAI CHI in many places throughout New York. I work in a variety of studios and out of my home. VOCAL COACHING - I love music, performing and and teaching individuals and groups of all ages to sing and to use music to express themselves! Learning to perform at any early age and to tap into our musical intelligence and creativity can build inner strength, character and confidence. Music is a means to explore, enjoy and center one's life. My performance experience includes solo cabaret shows, concerts and various venues including the United Nations, private & corporate parties and restaurants in the NYC area. I am the choral director for a women's chorus that has performed internationally. My teaching experience includes private lessons, teaching choruses, creating and facilitating workshops at NYU and The New School on vocal care, improvisation, songwriting, vocal technique, stress management and using music as a healing tool. I have worked with toddlers, young children, teenagers and senior citizens. Musical styles include pop, Broadway, jazz, country, folk, contemporary and classical. I have BA in Music/Music Therapy from The New School University *** Lesson Details *** VOICE LESSONS - What I teach: Music theory basics & ear training Breath technique & vocal warm ups Finding your musical style and vocal range Identifying the best keys for your songs Using a metronome and pitch pipe Microphone technique and stage presence Organizing your music and lessons & creating a practice schedule Improvisation and songwriting Vocal care for teachers and singers with vocal problems The first lesson begins by discussing goals with my student, a collaborative effort. Songs will be chosen to work on either suggested my be or at the students request. My approach to teaching is holistic engaging the breath and the body to create the energy flow needed to project the voice. I spend half of a lesson on breath work, ear training, scales and other voice production techniques. Instruments may also be used to learn music theory concepts and to explore rhythms and improvisation. I encourage students to have a performance goal and can make suggestions and support students in actualizing opportunities to perform what they've learned. *** Studio Equipment *** The space where I teach is quiet, spacious, comfortable and includes a professional size piano, microphone, and a variety of musical instruments (drums, chimes, rhythm instruments) *** Specialties *** Vocal Health, Music Therapy, Group Singing and Improvisation.
