A native of the Washington, D.C, area, Cal began taking piano lessons at age six. After ten years of intense jazz and classical piano lessons, he discovered his dad's old Fender Telecaster tucked away in a closet. From that point on there was no looking back.

Upon finishing high school, Cal began performing with several D.C.-area bands and quickly earned a name for himself as one of the best and most sought-after young guitar players in the region. Cal's efforts have put him in front of crowds of up to 20,000 and allowed him to share the stage with such artists as Hoobastank, Creed, and The Allman Brothers. He has performed all across the United States and toured internationally, traveling as far as the Philippines with former band The Speaks (Warner Asia) to support the Asian chart-topping singles "High" and "Regret."

In addition to touring, Cal has spent the last several years teaching guitar and music theory to students of all ages. For him, teaching is more than a source of income — it's a passion. He recently transplanted to New York City and is eager to pick up where he left off. To that end, he's building up a roster of students and studying music and journalism at the New School in Manhattan.
