I picked up my first pair of drumsticks when I was 10 years old. After a little bit of practice and hard work I've gone on to teach kids and adults the best instrument in the world! Some of my heroes include Steve Gadd, Carter Beauford, Buddy Rich, Gregg Bissonette, Dennis Chambers, and any drummer who can play left-handed. I have been in bands ranging in styles from rock to funk and currently enjoy playing in instrumental funk and pop-rock bands based here in DC. Whether it's an intimate club like IOTA in Arlington or a large venue like The Fillmore in Silver Spring, I love putting on a good show. While studying Audio/Radio at Emerson College in Boston, I played drums with funk-groove band SYM while honing my skills in audio engineering. It was in the studio, I fell in love with recording music from top talent in New England. Here in the D.C. area (originally from Northern VA), I am excited to meet new students and spread my passion for drums, audio engineering, and music performance! *** Lesson Details *** I tailor my lessons based on two factors: 1. The skill level of the student. 2. The main goal the student aims to achieve. Each student is unique and deserves a lesson that both accommodates and challenges their skill-set. Let's start talking today and see what kind of lesson works for you! *** Studio Equipment *** Yamaha Stage Custom Drums, Premier Artist Maple Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks *** Travel Equipment *** I use an electronic drum pad while the student must provide their own drums or percussion. *** Specialties *** Funk, rock, and creative linear drumming styles. I also teach percussion which includes both latin and most western music genres.

Professional Drum Teacher/Collaborator I'm not a student, however I did play in a band in Boston with Brian for over 2 years. He was professional drummer and had a great attitude towards collaboration. We recorded one EP at Emerson College, where Brian had an integral part in the mixing, production and of course recording. I would recommend working with Brian!

B-rock Brian and I shared the drum section together for several years in a local Northeast touring band. His technique and pursuit of the perfect beat were second to none. He's got a keen ear to tempo and brings unique flavors or different genres of music to the table which helped push the band in new directions. I'd recommend Brian as a teacher based on his love and dedication to music coming from his college major to his hobbies, music and playing drums are a large part of B-rocks life. Rock on brah.

Highly skilled and easy to work with. I've had Brian as a drummer in my band and he is highly skilled, easy to work with, reliable, and I would very highly recommend him as a teacher. I play some drums myself (not to his caliber) so I can recognize talent when I see it. If you need lessons, he's the guy to go to.
