    About Brian M.

    I have taught private lessons for eleven years to students from the age of nine to fifty nine on clarinet, guitar and bass guitar. I received my Bachelor's in Music Education from Arizona State University on Clarinet. I am a middle school band director who has taught for five years in the Gilbert Public Schools and Isaac Elementary School Districts, where my bands have received rating of Superior with Distinction in ABODA contests, which is the highest rating you can receive. I have performed with Scottsdale Symphony, ASU Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony, ASU Jazz Lab Band, Field Tripp (local rock band), GFP (jazz improvisation troop) and have performed in Austin, TX at SXSW. I have developed a plethora of techniques for teaching music and look forward to sharing these with you. *** Lesson Details *** I specialize in quality tone production, rhythmic reinforcement and a simplistic approach of advanced techniques and align my teaching with Arizona and national teaching standards.     Desert Vista Summer Academy

    I taught class guitar and instrumental ensemble to students ages 10-13 at Desert Vista High School two hours every day. Students performed three songs at the end of the two week class.

    I currently teach 7th & 8th grade concert band, jazz band, beginning band and pep band at Desert Ridge Junior High. My 8th grade band performed at ABODA state concert festival, where we received a "Superior with Distinction" rating. My bands also perform at the Gilbert District Concert Band Festival and the ASU Highland Jazz Festival.

My band performed in ABODA state concert band festivals, where they received a "Superior with Distinction" rating and Forum Festivals in Irvine, California, where they received a "Gold Rating".
