My name is Brent and I am a professional guitarist and music teacher. I have a BA in Classical Guitar Performance from UC Davis. Currently, I am a primary songwriter and guitarist for San Francisco rock band Lords of Sealand. Teaching all styles of guitar has been a passion of mine for many years. I love to share my passion with others. *** Travel Equipment *** I expect the students to have an instrument and to purchase the method books that I ask them to. I provide any supplemental materials that I find appropriate. *** Specialties *** Classical, rock, and folk guitar is my specialty, I perform professionally and love teaching. I also have a lot of experience teaching popular guitar and have been very active in rock and folk bands as a songwriter and as a guitarist.

I feel incredibly lucky to have found Brent. He puts a lot more time, energy and enthusiasm into his lessons than I ever would have expected. He is able to integrate theory and technical details into playing particular and diverse pieces, keeping things fun the whole time. He is a very skilled player as well as a talented and patient teacher, who would likely work well with players of any level or musical taste.

That was a year and a half ago and I feel very lucky to have found him because my son adores him and has made consistent progress under his skillful, patient and good humored instruction! My son and Brent have an easy and genuine rapport and it was clear to me from the beginning that this was going to be a good fit. (Basically Mael worships him). I am a little more objective but I also have nothing but positive things to say.
