I am a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with a dual-degree in Music Theory & Composition and Philosophy from Butler University in Indianapolis. I have 10 years of teaching experience and over 13 years of performance experience. I am classically trained, but have since branched out to genres such as Jazz, Bluegrass, Rock, Electronic Music, and anything in between. *** Lesson Details *** I will design lessons around your interests, goals, and needs. These can include full pieces, exercises, scales and arpeggios, worksheets, compositions, or improvisations (depending on your area of study.) *** Specialties *** I studied Suzuki violin, but later switched to a traditional style. I have over 15 years of experience in classical music (violin, guitar, piano) and have since taken up additional instruments and branched out to explore other genres: jazz, bluegrass, folk, rock, pop, etc. I place a strong emphasis on Music Theory, Scales, and Rhythmic accuracy, since these are the building blocks of all music and can be applied across genres. Most importantly, I make sure that my students have FUN in their lessons. I want to make sure my students look forward to their lessons each week--hopefully you will even be excited to practice.
