After the first few months of lessons, students can expect to have a solid foundation of technique for playing the guitar. With this foundation a student can start to learn more of the core essentials for playing the guitar and begin to branch off into more style-specific topics.
The guitar is an essential part of many different styles/genres of music and I encourage my students to explore all of these. When a student would like to focus on a specific style, I work with the student to set goals and develop the practice techniques necessary for mastering that style.

I am proficient in several different styles, including: Rock, blues, jazz, classical, and fingerstyle guitar. In addition, I have a deep understanding of music theory, composition (songwriting), and arranging. I have many years of performance experience with groups spanning genres that include rock, country, blues, funk, jazz and classical. I also have experience performing as a solo guitarist.
I have nearly 10 years of teaching experience, including private and group guitar lessons.Through this experience and through my education, I have developed a comprehensive guitar curriculum that will guide guitarists down the path to mastering the guitar.
