I first heard a French Horn long before I saw one and knew it was what I wanted to do with my life. I'll admit when I finally saw one I was a little disappointed. I'd hoped it would 'point outwardly', and look 'cool' like a trumpet or trombone. Nevertheless I took up horn and played throughout my school days in band, orchestra, various youth orchestras, and the honors groups in my area. I attended Shenandoah University, where I branched out and learned to apply Horn to contemporary music, musicals, pop, rock, jazz, and many other styles. Currently I perform in and around Philadelphia with a variety of groups, and in various settings. Lately, you can see me perform with the Philadelphia Wind Symphony, the Patriot Brass, and Beta Test (an ensemble that performs video game and sci fi music). *** Lesson Details *** I relate music to every-day problems, and strive to instill a thorough understanding of all methods and exercises we go over in our lessons. I custom tailor all lesson material to the student. I know first hand how a slight variation to a standard routine can create a 100x better result. All of our lessons together will be designed as steps towards your goals. And each lesson plan will be a living slate to work towards these goals. *** Studio Equipment *** Mic's, Mixing boards, stands, music, and repair materials. I have everything a working music professional needs, and everything needed to ensure a stellar result from any lessons spent together. *** Travel Equipment *** I provide initial method books, the student should already have an instrument to perform on, and a high functioning tuner and metronome. However, I can provide a tuner and metronome as well. *** Specialties *** Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary Horn music, as well as all pop genres (early Swing through Jazz, to modern Rock and Pop)
