I specialize in Jazz piano techniques. I also can teach students pretty much all aspect of keyboards and pianos including Classical technique, Blues technique, music composition, programming synthesizers, and MIDI.
You can expect to learn proper technique, fingering, & rhythm. I'll also show you how to read sheet music, develop aural skills, & understand music theory. My students learn exercises applicable to proper Jazz and Classical piano performance. I also include sheet music, corresponding to skill level of my students; so my students can quickly learn to play songs.
I'd be the ideal teacher for students wanting to learn Jazz, Blues, & Rock piano and keyboards. I will incorporate music theory and Jazz theory into the lessons. My style of teaching encourages students to relax and focus. Lessons with me consist of piano exercises and songs specific to the skill level of the student.
With 6 years of piano teaching experience I've worked with everyone from children to adults; and I find myself most successful with ages 10-17. I can help even functional
pianist sharpen their skills. I can help high school students planning on majoring in Jazz or Classical Piano prepare for college.
My philosophy is:
"Anyone can become an advanced pianist as long as they want to learn, practice, have guidance, and enjoy playing!"

Ben is good at motivating my child to learn piano. He is very patient and meets the student's needs at their level.
