Alex M. has been studying music since he was four years old, though it wasn't until he was in college at the University of Wyoming that he decided he wanted to spend his life performing and teaching music. In 2011 he moved to New York to participate in the vibrant music scene and has been playing and teaching there ever since. He received his Masters Degree from New York University in December of 2013. When he is not teaching at NYU, Alex performs and tours with a number of groups on the east and west coast playing jazz, rock, folk, r&b, and more. *** Lesson Details *** In lessons, we will focus on what the student wants to learn and set goals periodically to mark progress. Not everyone learns and understand music the same way, but everyone loves some kind of music. My goal is to help channel that passion into becoming a better musician, so that the student will learn what they want, but become a well-rounded musician in the process. *** Studio Equipment *** Guitar, bass *** Travel Equipment *** The student will need to provide a piano or amplifier if necessary. *** Specialties *** Jazz bass is my focus although I am classically trained in all of the areas marked. Improvisation is another area in which I specialize.
