My heart would beat too fast and too loud whenever I had to perform music in front of an audience! Nerves can be calmed by mental "gymnastics"! We will practice making music as a team! I have coached a lot of string players so that they can master their challenging orchestra music. I love to help anyone learn how to play the piano, the violin, the viola or the mandolin. I want you to be able to play the tunes that you enjoy the most and make it "your music"! I will teach you about music theory and history and help you train your own ears. You can compose your own music IF that is what you like...performance opportunities, chamber music too! I have a BA/BM in Violin Performance from the University of Washington. You will learn to read notation and do some basic music theory. You will play all scales and arpeggios and warm-ups well with correct positioning...
