Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Love working with Bryan. He is always so easy to understand and moves as quickly as I like. March 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by AMAZING RESULTS I'm not one to heap praise. In fact, I don't think I've ever written an online review at all. That being said, Bryan is a fantastic singing instructor. I started a few months ago with very limited expectations as to what I could accomplish, and I have been thoroughly amazed with the amount of progress I've made in such a short period of time. His ability to convey singing techniques through analogies and other means that are easily accessible to everyone is uncanny. Singing for me went from an embarrassing experience to one that I thoroughly enjoy, and his lessons are the highlight of my week. I absolutely recommend him to anyone interested in learning. Rated 5 out of 5 by Singing Lessons Bryan is great! He doesn't give up on me even when I want to give up on myself. He's attentive to body language, breathing, etc -- notices all of that. Bonnie April 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Elena Bryan is an amazing instructor. I learned so much at my very first lesson about breathing techniques, posture, and how to FEEL my voice. In just 45 minutes, I felt as though I had learned so much in such a short time span. Additionally, Bryan is really great at expressing how to bring out the full potential of my voice through various exercises like breathing through my stomach and feeling my voice in my face. I am happy to have Bryan as my instructor and I really enjoy everything I've learned thus far! March 5, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by What an improvement! Bryan was really great in diagnosing and helping me fix my problem areas as a singer. He chose the most helpful warm ups and gave great feedback that helped me improve tremendously in a short period of time. He also helped me stay true to my own voice, which is exactly what I wanted. I look forward to continuing lessons with him. January 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceeded my expectations I originally wanted to take voice lessons to help with my saxophone. My original plan was to take a half-hour lesson every two weeks. I enjoyed my first lesson so much that I am now taking weekly singing lesson. Brian is a great teacher. He explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand to a beginner lime myself. I am really looking forward to my next lesson. I feel that I have made a lot of progress in a very short time. December 14, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lots Learned Bryan is a great vocal instructor! I love how he uses metaphors to get me to understand each vocal concept. He is encouraging and instructive at the same time. At the end of each lesson he lets me know what we'll be working on next leaving me looking forward to our next session. November 11, 2011

  • Getting Started

Excited about jumping into music lessons? Before you can get to the guitar tabs, violin concertos, and vocal riffs, take a moment to think about the logistics of your lessons.
    Lesson Length
There are a few things to consider when choosing between 30-, 45- or 60-minute lessons. First and foremost, take your age and experience level into account. You'll also want to think about your long- and short-term goals, and the time you'll need to reach them. Most importantly, consider how long you or your child is able to stay focused.
    Lesson Location
Teachers have the option to display availability for in-home, in-studio, and online music lessons. In-home lessons take place at your house, in-studio lessons are conducted at the teacher's home or professional studio, and online lessons are taught over the internet via live video chat.

    Payment and Billing
We make paying for your lessons convenient and hassle-free! Prices vary based on several factors, including the city you live in, the length of your lessons, and whether you're taking them at home, in your teacher's studio, or online. Lessons are paid for in advance, which locks in your time slot.
    Signing Your Customer Agreement
Signing your Customer Agreement and completing your Student Questionnaire is the last step! The questionnaire will give your instructor valuable information about your goals and experience level, and give him or her time to create a customized lesson plan right from the start.

    Start Your Lessons

Now the excitement can really begin! Consider the following to ensure an exceptional first lesson...
    Prepare for Your First Lesson
Once you've completed the last step, your teacher will call you within the next couple of days to confirm your first lesson time and provide you with directions to their studio, if needed. We also encourage you to discuss your goals and any other questions you may have.
    What To Expect
Every teacher is different, but most first lessons begin with an assessment of where you are in your studies. At a beginner level, you might review the basics of your instrument, such as the different parts, how to hold it correctly, and proper care and maintenance. For voice, this may be the time you learn about breathing and posture.
    Reach the Goals You Set
Every TakeLessons student is unique, and so is your lesson plan! You'll work with your instructor to develop a plan suited to meet your specific goals. Most TakeLessons instructors will also keep track of your progress with a lesson journal.
