PROFESSIONAL SINGER, Ayanna has been teaching private voice & piano lessons as well as facilitating group vocal labs & workshops, seminar presentations and lectures since 1991. She has received a BA in Metaphysical Sciences, is currently working on her Masters in Metaphysical Sciences with an emphasis on healing arts utilizing vibrational frequencies & sound, in particular the human voice. She is currently writing articles and a book about the techniques and psychology of performing arts as well as finding ones' "true" voice for singers, speakers and pure everyday enjoyment of life. Students can expect to have fun learning in a sensitive, relaxed and supportive environment with Ayanna. She encourages students to explore and develop their creative styles while learning the fundamentals of singing, making music, & music theory with a playful and joyful approach. To her, parents play an integral role in a child's learning experience and their questions are always invited and welcomed. AWARDS & RECOGNITION: Ayanna has received Billboard Magazine's, "AWARD OF ACHIEVEMENT". She has performed in Europe and in every major City in the USA. Consistently incredible R&B,BLUES,SOUL,and JAZZ Musical performances are due to Ayanna's outstanding 4.5 octave Vocal range. “BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR” Awards (2) for her parts in musical theater productions. Thomas, Little Buster & The Soulbrothers, Eddie Harris, Lamar Johnson, Mary Wells, Little Milton, Tommy Castro, Shemika Copeland and shared the stage with many others. *** Lesson Details *** Ayanna offers skills for the beginning singer learning the basics of vocal health and range expansion to the advanced singer who wants to up his/her skills to the next level! There's always a "next step", no matter what level you're at and no matter what style of music you're interested in.. all styles of music. Stage performance and interacting with an audience are necessary skills to have as you move towards experiencing your dreams as a performer. Beginning to advanced piano offered in a patient and relaxed atmosphere. *** Studio Equipment *** Digital pianos, music stands mic/mic stands, CD players, laptop and IPhone plug-in. *** Travel Equipment *** Basically a piano. I can provide a keyboard for voice lessons, but prefer the student have their own piano/keyboard especially piano students. I can also travel further if there are group lessons, etc. *** Specialties *** I like the Seth Riggs method of singing/speaking. It's a method that I personally use, understand and can communicate/teach. Simply because it works for me and I've seen it work for others.
