Angel V. is a Singer/Songwriter born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on January 23, 1982. Son of Natividad Perez, a professional puertorican singer, and Angel A. V. From an early age Angel V. was exposed to music and to different Latin genres such as Salsa, Merengue, Pop Ballads, and Spanish Pop Rock among others. Angel started his formal music training at the age of 13 at the School of Fine Arts of Puerto Rico, even though he had been singing since he was 8 years old at different talents shows and events in Puerto Rico such as weddings, school programs, private and charity events and events sponsored by the Government of Puerto Rico. Angel graduated with honors from the School of Music of Puerto Rico in 2000 and was accepted to and attended the University of Puerto Rico, Bachelors of Music. At the University of Puerto Rico, Angel founded Sueño Latino, an organization of 40 students dedicated to music, dance and theater. From 2000 to 2001, Angel V. managed this organization and performed at numerous events sponsored by the University of Puerto Rico during that year. In 2001, Angel was accepted and transfer to the School of Music at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Bachelors of Music Performance (Classical Music). While attending University of South Florida, Angel kept cultivating his love for the Latin genres he grew up with and was a guest artist at different clubs in the Tampa Bay area, as well as in the city of St. Petersburg, where he performed songs in the Latin styles that he loves so much. Angel also performed with the University Singers, USF Choir at the Tampa Performing Arts Center on two different occasions during the 2001-2002 academic years. His voice teacher at the time, Dr. Kay Lowe, dubbed Angel her “young Ricky Martin” a famous puertorican Pop Star. In 2003, as if he hadn’t done enough, Angel got accepted to the most prestigious School of Music in the United States, Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Today, Angel V. holds a Voice Performance / Music Business degree with a minor in Piano from this institution. Angel had the opportunity to study music with singers that had worked with A list names such as Whitney Houston, Madonna, Oletta Adams, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder among others. At Berklee, Angel made his concentration on Pop Rock/Pop Ballads in Spanish and English. During his years in Boston, Angel performed at the Boston Encore Piano Bar, Club Café, and Concerts in the Park at the Boston Commons. Currently, Angel lives in San Francisco, CA where he is pursuing his career as a recording artist and recording his brand new single entitled “Amor Mio” or “My Love” a romantic, yet powerful acoustic ballad that talks about the beauty of being in love and finding your true love. "Amor Mio" is expected to be released in 2015 and will be available for purchase on iTunes. He also teaches voice and piano privately. What to expect on your first lesson? On your first lesson, I will evaluate and determine your proficiency playing piano or singing. We will talk about the areas that will need to work on to help you become a stronger singer and/or piano player. I like to tailor private lessons to my client's goals and what they need to become stronger musicians, capable of facing today's music industry demands. Each of my clients come from different backgrounds, some of them have been playing music for many years before they see me for the first time as their vocal coach or piano teacher, others have no prior experience playing piano or singing. Whether this is your first time as a voice student or piano student or you have taken lessons before your first lesson will be very important in the process of determining your goals, strongest assets as a musician and the areas that will need to work on to help you improved. How long before you see any progress? Most of my clients are able to notice some progress during their first lesson. My unique, encouraging, fun and caring approach to teaching speech level singing technique and piano make it easy for my clients to feel comfortable and let their talent soar. Now, every client, if they practice 30-45 minutes, twice a week, outside their lesson they will see improvement in their singing technique and/or piano technique within the first three or four lessons. What levels and styles do I teach? Voice: Speech Level Singing: Beginners through advanced. Styles: Contemporary Music, Classical Music & Musical Theater. Piano: Beginners through Intermediate. Contemporary Music & Jazz. Thank you for visiting my Takelesson.com profile. Angel Takelessons published articles: http://takelessons.com/blog/how-to-sing-tips

I just finished my final lesson with Angel and he has brought my voice to a whole new level. Angel taught me so many skills that I will use for the rest of my life. He has a way of patiently getting your voice to where it needs to go to thrive. I can't thank him enough for all the work we did together!

Angel is a dream! At our first lesson I told Angel that I couldn't even sing Happy Birthday, he calmly and patiently assured me that I could and by the end of our first lesson I was singing a Gloria Estefan song. It was kind of magical. Angel makes you feel 100% a home and comfortable so you can focus on the singing.
