Trumpet with Austin M.

My name is Austin M. and I am a music education major at Metropolitan State University of Denver. I have been in multiple ensembles in the music program including the wind ensemble, brass quartet, the symphonic band, and the symphony orchestra. I am currently a member of the Colorado Wind Ensemble in Denver, CO. I have marched with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps based here in Denver (2010 - 2011). I am also a marching band music arranger for multiple high schools here in Colorado, Texas and Indianapolis. My current trumpet teacher is Dr. Michael Hengst. I am in my junior year at Metro and am starting my education courses to complete my degree. I have been under the direction Dr. David Kish and Dr. Brandon Matthews for the past two years. I have taught at many high schools during their marching band seasons and during their regular year. I have been teaching private lessons for a year now! My lessons create a great professional relationship between myself and my students. I try to give my students challenging but fun ways to become a better musician. My lessons are always taught with thoughtful planning depending on how much weekly practice my students are doing and I do my very best to reach every need of my students. My goal is to give my students the opportunity to reach every possibility they seek and of course create beautiful music. My passion of music has driven me to share it with other wonderful people and I hope to be doing this for the rest of my life.
