Music in itself is a non tangible item that can be explained as an abstract idea of thinking to many people who are not musically inclined. Rather than focusing on the conceptual aspects of music, I have learned that we should focus on what makes music tangible. The reality is that music is a gateway to health and prosperity as well as a fundamental learning tool. Many people see music as simply being a song in a movie, radio ad, or television commercial. The problem is that music exerts energy in several different ways. One way of thinking is relating minor chord structure to something that is sad or unpleasant. One could also argue that the use of major chords tend to lead listeners to a happy place. The one thing that is constant is simply music. We all have been taught, and trained to listen to music a certain way. Whether it’s conscious training or not, it is still being fed to the average listener by someone else who has an opinion of what music is.
