Lesson Details
It is important that a teacher customize their lessons as needed because each student learns in different ways. Learning how each student enjoys to learn and at what rate, is key in determining the correct steps needed to have each student progress at the appropriate time.

much as possible; and we will do that together. I also play with the student to help them understand the correct technique and skill that is trying to be acquired. I also would like for the student to have a few goals set for themselves or something they would like to be able to play on the trumpet and then develop my lessons so that they can not only achieve those goals, but surpass them.
I am a very enthusiastic person in general, so lessons tend to be more relaxed to the student because of the relationship that is built within the first few lessons. The progress of the student rests mostly on the student themselves. I will do as much as I can to help you progress on trumpet, but you must be willing to put in the work to get to the next level.
I work out of the standard books for trumpet players. (i.e. Arban's, H.L. Clarke Technical Studies, Developing Sight-reading, and more.) I also use different methods of approach including Stamp and Cichowicz studies.
After about 3-6 months with me, I will expect the students to understand a small amount of music theory as well as basic proficiency on the trumpet. This will be evaluated by "playing tests" as assigned by me (nothing to stress over). Increased sound quality, range, flexibility, expression, awareness, endurance, and more, are what each student will achieve with me.

Music Education degree. I am one of the lead trumpet players in the UCF Jazz Ensemble 1. I was on the UCF Jazz Ensemble's first record, on their new record label "Flying Horse Records," called Jazz Town which was recorded in April of 2010.
After coming to Orlando I made connections as fast as I could. I took an audition for Disney World and got the gig as a trumpet player in the Christmas parade! I am still a Toy Soldier in the Christmas parade. I was recruited as one of the lead trumpet players in the non-profit Disney Encore! Orchestra that takes place over the summer and continue to play as a volunteer. I have taught trumpet and brass sections at Hagerty HS, East Ridge HS, and Freedom HS.
I play for musicals in the central Florida area, some including Ragtime, Annie, Ain't Misbehavin', Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street, and am still being booked for more!
I had the great opportunity to travel to Austria over this summer (2011) with the UCF trumpet ensemble, the only American university invited, to play in the Schagerl Brass Festival. It was the most influential experience I've ever had and gave me a different outlook on music in general. I have been very blessed in my life when it comes to musical opportunities. It is very important to understand that in music, opportunities are not only presented to you, but they are also created by you, the musician. Music is a lifelong journey. You never cease to learn and I love that.
